Therapist

Summary:

Conduct mental-health evaluations/assessments, provide individual, group, family, couple & children/adolescent therapeutic services in both English and Spanish languages to assist clients in overcoming dependencies, adjusting to life, and making changes. The counselor will provide individual, family and group counseling to clients enrolled in Limitless Possibilities. These counseling and therapeutic services will range from routine to complex, and include suicide prevention, crisis intervention, short- and long-term treatment with clients exhibiting dual diagnosis, post-traumatic stress disorder and other psychiatric disorders and/or readjustment problems. MUST ALWAYS adhere to the practice standards and ethical guidelines of respective licensing boards. Must have reliable transportation and be comfortable working in community settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct therapy sessions with individuals or groups using various therapeutic approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, or psychopharmacology.

  • Assess clients' mental health needs and develop personalized treatment plans.

  • Provide counseling and support to clients dealing with gender issues, special education needs, chronic pain, or other specific concerns.

  • Collect and analyze data to evaluate the effectiveness of therapy interventions.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in the field of therapy.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field.

  • Valid state licensure or certification as a therapist.

  • Experience in clinical research or data collection is preferred.

  • Specialized training or certification in art therapy, dance therapy, psychopharmacology, or other relevant areas is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and approaches.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to empathize with clients and create a safe and supportive environment for therapy sessions.

Therapeutic Mentoring offers structured, one-to-one, strength-based support services between a Therapeutic Mentor and a youth (from ages 5 to 21) to support a specific goal on the child’s behavioral treatment plan such as developing social skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving strategies, or daily living skills. We're looking for people with a good attitude who work well with children and young adults; strong communicators, organized, adaptable, critical thinkers with a sense of humor. Candidates who will thrive in this role are able to mentor children while also being willing to learn. A.I.M is recruiting for Mentors to work with youth and young adults with social and emotional challenges who are seeking support to manage the challenges they are facing. We’re also looking for Mentors who can meet with the mentees during the following times, (during the day, after school, and weekends).

​

A.I.M meets clients at their home and in the community at a time and place that is convenient. Day time, evening, and weekend hours are available. Meetings occur in environments that lend themselves to natural conversation – a place that’s comfortable for mentees and practical for the goals that have been identified. They can take place at home, in a coffee shop, park or while engaging in a healthy, fun, and practical activity. The Mentor will meet with their Mentee at a minimum of 2 visits a month per Mentee.

  • You are an energetic, confident individual with a positive attitude and capable of motivating others.

  • You are relationship oriented, have a unique ability to connect with others and yet have clear, healthy boundaries.

  • You have experience holding others accountable and therefore not be conflict avoidant.

  • You have experience in behavioral healthcare, counseling, and/or working with individuals facing life challenges, on the spectrum and/or with mental illness.

  • You must be teachable, flexible, and highly dependable, with a strong sense (and demonstrated record) of personal integrity and solid work ethic.

  • You must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

  • Able to hold a caseload of 5 or more mentees.

  • You must be able to complete weekly and monthly progress notes.

  • Able to meet for individual and group meetings/planning.

  • Verbal and written English language proficiency sufficient to communicate with people we support, co-workers, and community members.

Limitless Possibilities Mentoring Program A.I.M (Accelerating, Illuminating, Magnifying) my full potential is currently seeking Tutors to provide services to youth and young adults within the DMV area.

​

We're looking to fill a part-time position as a private tutor teaching students in a local after school program. We're interested in hiring a flexible, positive and personable individual who is capable of planning interesting lessons, discussing interesting topics with students and motivating them to be their best. Our ideal tutor is a highly-skilled professional with a passion for education and a desire to help students achieve academic success.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one help to students who don't understand a subject.

  • Complete clinical notes and other documentation requirements within documentation deadlines

School Based Psychiatrist/Interns (School Year 2024-2025)

​

Responsibilities:

 

  • Monthly visits to each of the Charter School’s clusters to spend 1 day providing psychiatry consult and services to students and setting a flex day to support any school within the network.

  • At monthly visits, the psychiatrist will dedicate time to observe or consult with other clinicians and dedicate some time to provide direct services with kids.

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments of patients

  • Diagnose and treat mental illnesses.

  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including medication management and therapy

  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of patients through regular follow-up appointments

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and school stakeholders to provide comprehensive care to students.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records of students treatment and progress

  • Consult with the special education coordinators at each school site to preview the day or confirm any high-priority needs.

  • Stay informed about the latest developments in psychiatry through continuing education and professional development

  • Student observations or case consults (for students who could be possible referrals to the your caseload)

  • Scheule and set routine psychiatry appointments

Qualifications:

​

  • Medical degree from an accredited institution

  • Completion of a residency program in psychiatry

  • Board certification or eligibility for board certification in psychiatry

  • Valid state medical license to practice psychiatry

  • Experience in providing care for patients with PTSD is highly desired

  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and their treatment options

  • Familiarity with medical documentation and HIPAA regulations

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
